Advent Wrap-Up: God With Us
The Gentle Work of Allowing Christ to Refresh You -- Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit
It’s Christmas Eve and today we stand at a sacred threshold.
Behind us is Advent — weeks of waiting, noticing, slowing, preparing room.
Ahead of us is Christmas morning — the quiet miracle of God-with-us.
And just beyond that, a new year, still unwritten, held tenderly in God’s hands.
Tonight invites us to behold.
Not to rush past what has been, or leap ahead into what must be done — but to look closely at how God has already been at work.
This Advent, we have tended the whole of who we are.
We renewed our minds, loosening the grip of fear and scarcity and practicing hope rooted in God’s promises.
We cared for our bodies, learning peace not as perfection, but as presence — listening instead of fixing.
We tended our souls, making space for joy that is received rather than manufactured.
We opened our spirits to love, remembering that love is not something we achieve, but something we are first given.
And now, on this holy night, we gather it all together.
The birth of Jesus is not just a moment to celebrate — it is a declaration: God enters the ordinary. God inhabits the tender and unfinished places. God makes all things new, not by discarding our stories, but by redeeming them.
You do not need a “new you” for the year ahead, resolutions fueled by pressure, or promises shaped by fear.
What you are invited into instead is alignment.
A life where your mind, body, soul, and spirit are gathered around Christ — where intentions replace striving, where rhythms matter more than results, and where renewal unfolds gently, over time.
As we move from Advent into Christmas, and from this year into the next, pause and reflect:
Where have I seen God move in me this past year — even quietly or imperfectly?
What part of me feels most renewed? What part still feels tender and in need of care?
Is there a word or phrase that God is offering me as a guide for 2026 — not as a demand, but as an invitation?
What rhythms will help me remain rooted in His presence as the year unfolds?
Tonight, we behold the Christ child — God made flesh, dwelling among us. In Him, we behold the quiet work of God forming us.
Not rushed.
Not forced.
But held.
May this Christmas mark not a finish line, but a beginning. May the God who makes all things new gather every part of you into His peace. And may you step into the year ahead grounded, hopeful, and gently aligned with the One who dwells with you — always.
Lord, make me new — not different, but deeply aligned with You.
Be my center, my source, and my peace in the year ahead. Amen.
I can’t wait to journey with you in the New Year!
Christmas blessings,
